The oil fields gave out, or don't produce as much as they did back then, or so it seems. However, surely the stealing guardians etc invested the stolen money in real estate, land, etc., and put these in their own name. Their offspring may still be rich, wealthy because of criminal deeds of their (great)grandfathers. There must be a way to give it back to the Osage, or contribute by way of mandatory charitable contributions. I realize, such a thing may be too complicated, since the offspring may be mixed Osage-White. Agreed and I never heard this story prior to the book or movie- 1. question what percentage of the book and movie profits go to help the Osage Nation. Feels like they should get something financially from this, given the circumstances of white men making money off their story.
